Frequently Asked Questions

Which model is this — and how does it differ from the 2-zone version?

This is the MHT-001, our 1-zone Manual Hose Timer. One outlet, one schedule. Compact and straightforward — ideal if you only need to automate a single hose, sprinkler line, or drip system. If you might want two independent schedules from one faucet, see our 2-zone MHT-002.

What's in the box?

1× Manual Hose Timer, 1× 1/2" hose adapter for smaller faucets, 1× spare O-ring, 1× inlet filter, and a Quick Start Guide. 2× AAA batteries are not included.

How long does installation take?

About 2 minutes, no tools required. Insert batteries, drop the inlet filter into the inlet, seat the O-ring, hand-thread onto your 3/4" outdoor faucet, connect your hose, and turn the faucet on all the way.

What schedule options can I set?

Duration: 1–240 minutes in auto mode (1–300 minutes in manual). Frequency: every 1–23 hours or every 1–15 days. Set start time, duration, and frequency with the dial and +/− buttons.

Does it work with drip irrigation?

Yes. The Manual Hose Timer works with drip systems, soaker hoses, sprinklers, and micro-sprinklers.

Will the timer work without batteries?

No. The 2× AAA batteries power both the LCD display and the electronic valve. Without batteries, the valve stays closed and no water flows.

Will removing the batteries erase my schedule?

No. Your programmed schedule is stored in non-volatile memory and survives battery removal. The only thing you'll need to reset is the clock.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

We recommend standard alkaline AAAs. Rechargeable NiMH batteries run at 1.2V instead of 1.5V, which can trigger the low battery indicator sooner and may reduce valve reliability.

What if my water pressure is too low?

The timer needs at least 14.5 PSI to open the valve. Most residential outdoor faucets run 40–60 PSI, so this is rarely an issue.

Is the timer waterproof?

It's designed for outdoor use and is water-resistant. The battery compartment should be kept as dry as possible — avoid leaving the timer in standing water or direct sprinkler spray.
